Frequently Asked Questions?

What is the difference between the standard RK3 and the RK3 HD?

The standard RK3 is slightly more flexible and has positive/neutral buoyancy, making it excellent for warm water and wetsuits. The RK3 HD is stiffer, denser, and negatively buoyant, making it the preferred choice for cold-water drysuit diving because it helps keep your feet down and trim in check

Can I replace the springs on the heel straps?

Yes. The RK3 comes standard with stainless steel spring straps equipped with custom-designed buckles. They use a simple push-pin design, allowing you to easily replace or service the springs without needing special tools.

What are the grommet holes on the fin for?

The large holes located at the ends of the fin blade are designed to fit standard carabiners. This allows you to easily clip the fins together and attach them to your BCD while walking across pebbled beaches, climbing a dive ladder, or accessing a dive site.

Do they run true to shoe size?

Apeks does not use standard shoe sizes because boot thickness and style drastically change the fit. A warm-water neoprene boot takes up far less space than a drysuit rock boot. Generally, divers recommend sizing down if you are on the fence or diving in thinner boots, but going true to size if wearing thick rock boots.
