For Parents & Babies

• Ages 6–18 months

• No prerequisites or prior swim experience

• Parent or Guardian participation required

• Must wear swim diapers (one disposable and one non-disposable)

• Focus on comfort, safety, and bonding in the water

What You’ll Experience

• Fun, interactive songs and games

• Gentle introduction to submersion and breath control

• Practice with kicking, back floats, and bubble blowing

• Parent instruction in child and infant CPR techniques

• A warm, positive environment that promotes confidence and trust

Class Details

• Format: Group class with parent participation

• Duration: 30 minutes per session, one session per week for 8 weeks

• Location: Santa Barbara Aquatics indoor heated pool

• Class Size: Small group for personalized attention, 5 students maximum

• Underwater Photos: During week 7, students can have an underwater photo taken, which will be shared with their parents

What to Bring

• Reusable and disposable swim diapers (also available for purchase at the facility)

• Towel and dry change of clothes

• Swim suit or rash guard for added warmth (Optional)

Prerequisites

• No swimming experience required

• Infant must be between 6 and 18 months old at the beginning of the session

• Parent or guardian must accompany child in the water
