Swim School

A beginner-level class for older children new to swimming or still gaining confidence in the water.

• No prerequisites

• Learn to blow bubbles, float on the back, and swim independently on both front and back

• Practice entering and exiting the pool safely

• Focus on comfort, breath control, and basic coordination

• Perfect for children beginning their swimming journey

Stroke School (Ages 6–12)

For swimmers who are comfortable in the water and ready to develop technique and endurance.

• Prerequisite: Must be able to swim a full length of the pool, get side breaths in freestyle, and swim comfortably on back

• Introduction to the four major strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly

• Learn flip turns and improve diving technique

• Build stamina and form through guided drills and fun challenges

• Prepares swimmers for Swim Club or future swim team participation

Swim Club

For swimmers who already know all four major strokes and are ready to build endurance and refine form.

• Prerequisite: Familiarity with all four strokes

• Focus on technique refinement, endurance training, and consistency

• Practice dives, turns, and pacing to improve overall performance

• Encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and preparation for competitive swimming

• Great bridge between swim lessons and swim team participation

Class Details

• Format: Small group classes

• Duration: 30 (Swim School) or 45 (Stroke School and Swim Club) minutes per session, one session per week for 8 weeks

• Location: Santa Barbara Aquatics indoor heated pool

• Class Size: Limited to ensure individualized instruction and safety, 4 students maximum

• Underwater Photos: During week 7, students can have an underwater photo taken, which will be shared with their parents
