The Katana 2 harness sets a new standard in sidemount diving. Designed in collaboration with Edd Sorenson from Cave Adventurers, we developed a unique new Quick Fit System which allows users to easily tailor the one-size-fits- all harness to their specific size or adjustment preference in a matter of minutes. We added more lift, more weight capacity, single and dual bladder options and the best quality materials Hollis has always been known for. Katana 2 is also the first sidemount harness in the world to be designed with closed circuit sidemount capability, with integrated mounts for the popular KISS sidewinder. Katana 2 breaks away from traditional designs and offers more customization and versatility.

Quick Fit System (QFS) One-Size-Fits-All Harness

Engineered for ultimate versatility, the modular harness can be easily configured into either an H-style or Y-style layout.It features rapid-adjustment straps for the torso, shoulders, and waist, allowing the rig to scale comfortably across a massive range of diver sizes without sacrificing fit.

Integrated Primary Bungee & Wing System

The internal wing design features integrated primary bungees that dynamically pull the uppermost portion of the wing—and your tanks—upward and neatly in line with your torso. This prevents cylinders from sagging and eliminates the uncomfortable, restrictive wrapping of bungees around your back common in older sidemount designs.

Low-Profile Baffled 40 lbs Lift Wing

Constructed with a tough 1000-denier Cordura nylon outer shell and a 15mm urethane internal bladder, the wing provides 40 lbs (18.1 kg) of lift. An internal baffle system prevents the over-expansion "turtle shell" effect, maintaining an exceptionally streamlined profile in tight overhead environments.

Dual Bladder Redundancy

this model incorporates two independent air cells (each with 40 lbs of lift) and a dual-inflator setup. This built-in redundancy provides essential backup buoyancy when diving deep or technical profiles in light exposure gear (like a wetsuit) where you cannot rely on a drysuit for safety.

Can I switch the Hollis Katana 2 between an H-style and Y-style harness?

Yes. The Quick Fit System webbing layout can be easily modified by the user to be configured as either a classic "H" harness (which allows for the addition of a chest strap for extra stability) or a "Y" harness based on your personal preference.

What is the weight capacity of the built-in weight system?

The Katana 2 features a central spine weight pocket designed to hold up to 20 lbs (9.1 kg) of hard or soft ballast. This central placement helps center your ballast along your spine to achieve a flat, horizontal trim.

Does the Katana 2 support rebreather diving?

Yes. It is recognized as one of the first mainstream sidemount systems to feature integrated mounting options for closed-circuit sidemount systems (such as the KISS Sidewinder) directly on the inner wing.

How do the dump valves function on this BCD?

The BCD features a flexible dump configuration with reversible inflator and dump assemblies. It includes an innovative top pull-dump and an accessible over-the-shoulder pull dump on the left side, allowing you to vent gas smoothly without having to break your trim or reach awkwardly behind your back.
